He will probably be fine with an R flex. Cobra King SpeedZone Thanks Jeffrey R. I was thinking the same thing.
I figure that the Pro Launch is quite a bit stiffer than the stock ReAX, as well as 15 grams heavier. I think that coupled with the low torque will be fine. My perfect swings are definitely in the range; however, being a 28 hdcp I need to account for the non-perfect swings. I've hit some S flex shafts that worked well for me Aldila Serrano and some R flex that worked well Blueboard. Try something in the I think i'm going to have the shaft trimmed to 45" when I have it installed. Again, I know all the signs point to an S flex, but I'm going to give the R flex a try.
I'm actually considering buying another PL Red in S flex, so that I have one available to switch if the R doesn't work. I'm very happy with the PL Red, so far. I had the shaft trimmed to I'm planning to get out a couple times this week, so I'll be able to put it through its paces. At this point, I'm also happy that I went with the R flex, as it plays much stiffer than the stock shaft.
I figure, that by the time I'll need to upgrade to an S flex, I'll be in the market for a new driver anyway. Thanks, everyone, for all of the suggestions. You can find one of them for a pretty good price too. A couple of quick thoughts hopefully helpful : 1 I believe that the Burner has a 2" BBGM - essentially this means that the shaft is not inserted very deep into the hosel compared to standard 1. I know you said that you normally swing slightly less than your "peak" but you may want to consider whether you are overswinging lose balance a bit, have inconsistent contact?
Also, the stock shaft is probably too long and you'd be more solid with a shorter driver length. I haven't hit it yet but I'm hoping the shorter length and slightly heavier shaft weight will help my in consistency. Good luck. I believe that my launch monitor stats, that I posted above, had a lower ball speed due to the fact that I was slicing the ball like crazy that day.
My side spin was in the rpm range. I've worked on correcting the slice, and my normal swing speed is between mph, consistently. TaylorMade Burner Driver Taylormade Burner Right Handed Driver 9. Taylormade Burner Driver Head Only.

Bought this driver in and I hit the straightest drives ever! When the new TaylorMade driver started coming out I traded it in and keep upgrading like an idiot. I just picked up an old and put it back in the bag! Always played Taylormade clubs. Bought this Burner when it first came out and loved it. As we do, moved on to newer versions and sold this one. Had much regrets later. I am happy if you got improved results…but that is not what the article was about.
It was about TM turing the industry into a commodities based market. Not to worry Vijay … the manufacturers are doing discounts like never before, so take your time and wait for January.. Glad I found this post. I just got the new Burner and love it! I have been hitting the 07 model since it came out and I think its a great club too.
Got the new one for christmas played with it today and am not gonna look back at my old one. I understand they come out with ton of differnt crap but at the same time does it really matter? I mean if I had a golf company I would be coming out with as much new stuff as I could. Then again what do I know.. Bring on the snarky comments! Well it is typically a failing business model for the long term.
And you can tell it is wearing on both the customer and the vendors. Many golf stores are very upset because their inventory is now worth crap only 5 months after they release their clubs. And with 27 drivers and 59 irons it makes it tough in regards to branding. I currently have the Tour Burner for about 2 months. TM is getting out of hand.
To many drivers back to back. Looking at getting another driver at the end of the year and it wont be a TM. The only thing saving TM is the tour presence — however, that has to be a marginal return on investment. I think TM will eventually be in Walmart etc. I agree with you about the tour presence but Wal-Mart I don;t see.
THey simply have too deep pockets. I think their numbers will slide soon but they will get it right soon. I am also seeing alot of Calaway merchandise at Target. The main problem with TM is the green grass shops have difficulty stocking and keeping up with the technology.
When a shop sells drivers per year for several different brands- it is going to be difficult to stay with TM. Much easier for a small shop to stick with the brands that only bring out new clubs once a year- or better yet, once every 2 years.
Non TP with a salthering of lead tape on the toe. Bring on the D3Comp I say. Has anyone compared the Burner with the Tour Burner? I know that the introduction of the dual crown came with the Tour Burner, but has anyone noticed an increase in performance?
Is it worth the upgrade? It make me dizzy to see yet another Burner model being introduced. Longer shaft? Why not just combine the two in one offering and save the hassle of retailers and customers. Create one Burner line. Seriously a 5-month wait for the TP version. WHats the deal??? At only half a millimeter thick, the Cleveland Launcher Driver crown moves every bit of potential weight low and deep to improve the CG center of gravity , optimizing launch conditions and maximizing distance.
